Marine Mammal Sightings Map (20K)

Note: Numerous California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, and Southern Sea Otters are seen on all trips, and are not plotted on the chart.

Blue Whales continue to provide excellent opportunities throughout the reporting period. This has been the best Blue Whale viewing in many years. By this time next month Gray Whales will be the dominant baleen whale and will be seen from shore and from boats.

Dolphins have been present in relatively large numbers and have been seen nearly daily from whalewatching boats.

Sightings reported by G. Fisher, T. Kieckhefer, T. Lorenz, Monterey Bay Whale Watch, Monterey Peninsula Audubon Society, L. Oliver, P. Samitt, J. Williamson, A.J. Young.
